An educational setting in Burnsville, MN is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their school-based therapy team on a contract basis. This role offers a flexible schedule with a commitment between 0.2 and 0.4 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), supporting a caseload of approximately 15 to 20 students depending on the FTE selected. Responsibilities: Provide occupational therapy services primarily focusing on fine motor skills, with a significant emphasis on handwriting improvement. Collaborate closely with one full-time Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L) and two full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), who deliver the majority of direct interventions. Implement Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to enhance students' handwriting capabilities. Utilize Interception intervention techniques as part of regular therapy sessions to address sensory processing needs. Coordinate scheduling to meet the agreed FTE, offering flexibility in days and times to accommodate both the schools and therapists needs. Qualifications: Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based therapy. Proficient in delivering therapies related to fine motor skills development in children. Skilled in using Handwriting Without Tears curriculum. Knowledgeable and trained in Interception intervention strategies. Strong team player with experience collaborating with both OTR/Ls and COTAs.
